VIDS FOR WIDS

DEATH
GRIEF
LIVING ON
BUT MAKE IT FUN.

Videos to help widows feel less alone as they navigate the hilarious mess of rebuilding after loss. We share real stories from real widows plus tips from experts who know more about grief than we do.

Help a wid highlight

Throughout the year, we highlight the GoFundMe pages of fresh widows who are right in the thick of grief. Because that first year is ROUGH. No, money doesn’t solve all your problems when you lose your spouse, but it sure is nice to not have to worry about blowing it on things like out-of-pocket therapy or that lavish trip across the world that is the first thing you might actually look forward to in a while! Check out the current wid highlight below.

Denise Anderson

On January 29th, 2024, Denise lost the love of her life and father of their seven children to cancer. Leland leaves a gaping hole in this young mother’s life as she navigates caring for seven grieving children all in different developmental stages and takes on the role of primary provider for her family. Denise finds herself in the worst year of her life without her other half. Consider helping her as she learns to move forward without Leland so that finances aren’t added to her long list of to-dos!

THE WID BEHIND THE VID

Leslie HARTEr BERG

I’m Leslie. I’m a writer, speaker, video producer, and the creator of Vids for Wids. When my husband died suddenly in 2019 from a freak brain aneurism and stroke, the only people I actually wanted to talk to were other widows who also felt like a half person. Vids for Wids is a place for solidarity, for all those wondering what they “should” be doing after their world blows up, and for widows, like myself, embracing both the terrible and amazing of life.

If you want to book me for speaking engagements or events, my agent is the best place to start.

Make a donation.

Obviously it costs money to produce video and animation content, but we want these resources to always be free to this niche grieving community. That's where you come in! Whether you give once or on an on-going basis, donations help fund the production team (think "Lights, Camera, Action"), any travel or speaking costs for experts, and help widows in need.
